Savings you
can't throw out

Under the new refuse program, property owners have control of their user costs. For example, residents select cell phone usage plans or cable service, individually. You don't pay a fixed fee based on the entire city or your street. The same will occur with your recycling and refuse.

You control your cart size and the corresponding cost. And with the City switching to privately-run waste management, the high costs associated with a municipal program go away.

Single-stream recycling:
No need to sort

In an effort to make recycling that much easier for the property owner, the City offers single-stream recycling. This means newspaper, cardboard, plastic, glass, etc. can all be placed together in your recycling cart. The City plans to offer a comprehensive single-stream recycling menu, meaning less waste and more savings for residents. Residents will be able to recycle a wide range of household paper, plastic, metal and glass items. During processing the recyclables will be separated for reuse.
